Trisquel Mini is non-funcional

I recently got a cheap Asus eee901 for 60 bucks and I slapped trisquel mini onto it because lxde uses 90 mb of ram as opposed to the 190 GNOME does. However, I have found Mini to be very different in functionality. The update manager refuses to work and I get no FlashVideoReplacer functionality in WebBrowser or Icecat. I think I will be using Trisquel the real edition.

I'm running standard Trisquel on an Eee PC 1000, and I find that it runs quite nicely.

I am trying to make a live usb key from my other Trisquel, and I found the startup disk creator horrible as usual. We really need to get a replacement or fix its ugliness. From what I remember about my Window$ days, the usbinstaller.exe I used there was MUCH better. If the program doesn't like the ISO or if it's an iso other than the OS you're currently running, it's a no-go.
Anyone know the command-line way to make a usb key? I'll be needing that if I plan to give Trisquel a 2nd shot on my EEE901

Startup disk creator works fine for Ubuntu-based distros. It certainly worked fine for me for Trisquel-mini.

But for a command line alternative you may like to try usb image writer: https://github.com/abock/image-usb-stick/

Instructions:
* cd to where you downloaded
* chmod a+x ./image-usb-stick
* Remove all USB storage devices except the empty USB stick that you want to write to
* sudo ./image-usb-stick path-to-live-image.iso

I don't think it supports persistence, though.

UNetbootin is quite universal. Have you tried it? http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net

It worked for me for Trisquel mini, but not Trisquel full.
