Trisquel says I have run out of space and won't let me download
When I try to download a file from the internet it says gives me this error:
There is not enough room on the disk to save /tmp/HVkw4S8S.mp4.part.
Remove unnecessary files from the disk and try again, or try saving in a different location.
Apparently it would seem I don't have free space in my hard drive. BUT I have unninstalled a lot of applications and deleted a lot of files, and yet it says there is too little space available.
Any idea what could it be??
Please show the output of this command:
$ df -h
Thanks for the replies.
I used the command suggested by Magic Banana and actually realised it was indeed a problem in /var/log. I had made a change in my ufw logging, and it was creating ENORMOUS log files. I deleted them and it wasn't enough, I had to (as root) delete the contents from .Trash-0 /files /info
Now it is gone :)
Nope Heater my wireless card works fine with free software. It really was just a matter of lowering ufw logging.
It should be a somehow more automatic process... I am quite computer savvy and it took me a lot of trial and error to make it work. Another person might have given up.
Thanks!
One other thing worth doing to free up some space is run apt-get clean and apt-get autoremove after every update/upgrade :-)
