Is there information about the differences between trisquel and Ubuntu? I mean If Trisquel is Ubuntu based, why is it so stable and fast compared with Ubuntu?

Thank you,

Here is some info on how Trisquel is made. As far as the speed and stability you would have to ask quidam.

I noticed you guys take out Ubuntu One. Is this a free software issue with either the program or its dependencies, or moreso trying to have an unbranded distro? I don't use Ubuntu One but I'm sure those that do will just use Ubuntu instead.

I think that explains:

Intellectual property and software licence.

The client software of Ubuntu One is released for free public use under several open source licenses, primarily the GPLv3 and Creative Commons licences. See the licence text included with the code for details. Canonical grants you a non-exclusive, personal licence to use the server software while you receive the services from Canonical. You acknowledge that all intellectual property in the server software provided as part of the services belongs to Canonical or its licensors. You will not acquire any rights to the software or the intellectual property from your use of the services, other than as set out in this agreement and in the software licensing of the distributed client code.

"we use a set of scripts based in the ones from Linux-libre, with some modifications of our own."

Could we know what is the modification of your own? :) I want to be sure Trisquel is totaly free!

Thanks!

We do not take our kernel source from kernel.org, but from Ubuntu.
Since Ubuntu adds extra drivers to the kernel, we need to add extra
cleaning features to the linux-libre deblobber scripts.

As far as the modifications you can ask quidam about that. He is usually on IRC or you could email the dev mailing list. Trisquel should be totally free. If you ever do notice a freedom issue it is considered a critical bug and we hope you will report it to the bug tracker so the issue can be fixed.
