Trisquel on Various Computers

To all:

New to the list but not knew to Trisquel.

I recently upgrade two laptops, Dell Inspiron and Toshiba Satellite to
Trisquel 4.0 LTS Taranis and on both computers the operating system runs
excellent.

I decided to put Trisquel 4.0 LTS Taranis on a Dell Dimension 3000 and
the operating system runs good but the ethernet card is not working.

The ethernet card is a Intel Corporation 82562EZ 10/100 rev02.

Trisquel has the correct kernel driver e100 and kernel module e100 but
for some reason the ethernet card doesn't connect.

I've tried everything I can think of, reading network articles,
manpages, etc. but can't figure out the problem with the ethernet card.

If anyone on the list has suggestions on what I can do please let me
know.

I think this card requires non-free firmware. The deblob script that
makes the linux-libre kernel also suggests so. Check dmesg output for
strings like "DEBLOBED" and "Missing free firmware". If that is the case
your only solution will be external network card that works with free
software.
