Hi

I have tried installing Trisquel on my desktop and it says that Ubi-partman has crashe with exit code 141. Is there anything I can do about this? I haven't doone a text only install before, but if that will get round the issue then that is fine (the drive is already partitioned, if that helps)

thanks

Joe

Did you verify the installation media before trying to install? (Check CD for errors or whatever the text says.)

Yep, said it was fine

Does it do it every time or did it happen just once? Looks like many people have had similar issues, suggested fixes include having a live network connection available and not having the target disk partitioned before hand.

I guess the text installer might work as well.

It is every time - I tried multiple times from live session and straight from boot. I can't really format the whole disk, will try text installer and post back here to see how it goes.

I had also that problem installing Trisquel 5.0. It is a ubuntu reported problem.

I had no problems installing Trisquel 4.5 on the same computer. I didn't upgrade to 5.0, but probably it is not a problem to have 5.0 version that way.

I had this problem, error code 141. I have a notebook with two hard drives. The installer wants an empty disk so from live boot I formatted one of my drives and the install worked.
