Ubuntu Tweak is an awesome program for customizing ubuntu based distros. link: http://ubuntu-tweak.com/ I was thinking would it be worth retheming it as Trisquel tweak and maybe including as a default package in 5.0?

Ubuntu tweak recommends non-free software (google earth for instance). I think Trisquel can do perfectly without that tweak thingy.

I just looked at their website under apps. Maybe it's only an issue of the website, not the program itself?

Yeah I have never seen it suggest non-free software. It does have a package installer built in but it's connected to the same repositories that synaptic is so it shouldn't be able to suggest non-free.

The first "third party source" proposed on this screenshot is Adobe Flash PPA... I believe it is not the only problem given the applications and the sources proposed on the Website.

I like the idea, and re-theming would probably be a must. I am trying to learn some programming, so maybe in time.. unless someone else does it first. Perhaps we can even put this on the crowd-sourcing list?

I'm learning to program too. What do you think, shall we make that a community effort of us two? Isn't exactly a project I'd be interested in personally, but it sure would be nice exercise.

yeah we should add this to crowd funding it would be cool. we could always fix any problems of it suggesting non-free. i think it could be a feature that really gives us a leg up over other distros.

It would be great to have a unique control-center app for trisquel. If is a community effort, I'll be glad to help. :)

Well... Like the one in the system menu? :-)

The one in the system menu is the gnome-control-center. The problem with that is that it has too many categories, baffles the new user(Average Joe). So it'll be nice to have a streamlined control-center app, not necessarily based on Ubuntu-tweak, but it'll be needed when trisquel becomes a viable competitor for Ubuntu in the market(dont forget something like software center).

Sure man, we'd need to get together. Would surely be an exercise. Perhaps we can even do it and stay out of Ruben's hair so we don't take up his time, lol. However, he may want this to go toward a crowd-funding thing. Maybe we can still do it anyway. I would be down.
