Unable to log in to my bank's website

Using Trisquel Mini with Midori, I'm unable to log into my bank's website.
Keeps saying invalid userID/password. Spoke with my bank and they reset me several times, with no luck. I told them what browser I was using and they said they would have to get back with me in a couple days.

Is this apparent incompatibility within the realm of ordinary/to be expected using Midori?

Has anyone else dealt with this type of browser issue before? What have you learned?

Have you tried other browsers just to see what happens? It's important troubleshooting to try other things.

I've had luck with the browser that's simply called "Web" in the "Add/Remove Applications"

Interesting.. I tried "Web" and I got a different result. It did not reject my username/password, but it logged me off right away.

I'm almost impressed that they didn't say "install Chrome" or "we only support Windows and macOS."

Midori hasn't been updated in a couple of years, so I'd definitely try another browser. Try Abrowser. They probably tested their site with Firefox, so if it doesn't work with Abrowser it is possibly due either to Abrowser's different privacy settings or lack of a non-free plugin like Flash.

I don't see Abrowser in the Add/Remove Applications in Trisquel Mini.
Is it available on Mini, or would I need to reinstall regular Trisquel?

Everything installable in Trisquel is installable in Trisquel Mini. The only difference between the two is which software is installed by default.

Not all packages appear under Add/Remove Applications. Often this is because the package is not something a typical user would install on its own (such as a library), but there is also a bug whereby packages that have been rebranded (Firefox->Abrowser, Firefox->Icecat, Thunderbird->Icedove) don't appear either.

However, all packages can be installed using Synaptic Package Manager or the terminal.

See this page

https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/installing-updating-and-removing-software

and install the 'abrowser' package.

What is this, 2010?

Also:

My bank's website does not work without (proprietary) JavaScript.  I
only interact with my bank thru checks, ATM, telephone, and in person.

There is software I'm required to use by my University that needs Flash... When I complained (and warned them of the securitiy vulnerabilities) they said "Use Chrome. It has Flash built in." They didn't seem to understand that this is a reason *not* to use Chrome. I just use a university computer for this task, as I consider it to be their computing anyway, but I can't wait until Adobe officially deprecates Flash in 2020. Hopefully there will be no more excuses then.

So, I tried Abrowser, and it works perfectly. Thanks.
