Updating Trisquel 8 to 10?

Hey there everyone, I was wondering how I could go about doing that if it's even possible? I haven't used Trisquel in some time and booted up my backup laptop. I tried running the Software Updater and it seems pretty buggy now compared to before, am I better off backing up all my personal files and just download the iso and burn it to a USB to do it?
