us.archive.trisquel.info very very slow initially, using es.archive.trisquel.info instead

Not sure why, but I noticed when doing an apt-get update that us.archive.trisquel.info is very very slow, but just initially; seems to download packages fine once it gets going. It didn't used to be this way, say, a few weeks ago.

Anyway, I was trying out Trisquel 7 net install and noticed the same horrible slowness, so I just switched to es.archive.trisquel.info and that seems to be working perfectly.

Not that big a deal, just figured I'd mention it in case someone else runs into the same thing -- though it's quite likely something to do with my network between here and there.

It's best to use mirrors instead of the main server (which is the es. one)

I don't use either and point my repos to http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel/

The U.S. archive is run by the FSF so they're one at the same. :)

I know that they are the same, but I've had us.archive.trisquel.info time out on me or was unreachable where the fsf mirror didn't. Just left it at that and went straight to the source.

I had this problem too,
so I ran the "select best server" at the applications sources (sorry if this is not the official translation, as my system is in Portuguese.

I switched to fr.archive.trisquel.info
and also to ftp instead of html.

Maybe we have to use the different servers, to avoid overloading the main server.
