USB Audio
Got a new Peavey guitar amp and it has USB adio out. When connected, I can see the interface in sound settings and can see the input level vary but I can't get Jack to see the audio connection (it does see the MIDI interface just not the audio) to get it to Ardour. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Why not downloading Musix GNU/Linux? Specialized in music and recommended by the FSF.
I can get all the music tools I need with Trisquel (probably most of same in Musix). I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to get the hardware to function with these existing tools. I have a headphone out that I can get into the system just fine, but headphone out/mic in mismatch as well as the muting thing make it a less than desirable setup.
I am sorry kneebiter, I could not understand you right. What is "see the jack"? Could you please give some more information.

I think that you may post this onto some musician forum and also (if any) at the forum of the program you're using.
ps: AC97 or HD Audio?
ps2: maybe a screenshot or picture of the cables connection could help.

Hi,
I'm not that expert in linux audio, but I would recommend you to go through Fedora musician's guide. (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/16/html/Musicians_Guide/index.html)

If you are using qjackctl the devices that work are visible in
"Interface", "Input device" and "output device" of the setup
