What game is Stallman playing?

In Hackers: Wizards of the Electronic Age a much younger Stallman is seen playing a game on the Commodore 64 (Stallman also has additional appearances where he advances the free software ideology).

I'm interested in what this game is, I don't know c64 games very well (it may also be a homebrew that was never really released).

That is indeed it! I think this is also then the only footage of Stallman using proprietary software. Luckily it appears a number of free clones of tapper have been made by now.
