I know H-Node lists many printer models compatible to GNU/Linux. However, I want to know, what printer you *actually* buy and use with Trisquel? I believe Trisquel Forum answers are legitimate. I am in search of ones so I can recommend many in my classroom. So far, I can only recommend Canon MP160.

Sincerely yours,

Malsasa

I use a Samsung M2070FW. Plugged into USB both the copier and printer work but if I use Ethernet instead the copier won't work. This isn't a Trisquel issue but a Linux wide issue for me. I also occasionally printed to my wife's Brother J450DW over wifi when I needed color.

Thank you very much for your recommendation, my friend. This is what I am looking for.

Any printer that understands PostScript should work, because Trisquel can just spew out generic PostScript commands in the general direction of the printer. That means you may not get access to printer-specific features but hey it's a lowest common denominator.

Thank you, Jason, but I am looking for exactly the name and the model (e.g. Canon Mp160). Could you tell me what's yours?

I found that thread, among others, searching for "printer" on this forum:

HP OfficeJet 3830 works for me in Trisquel 10. Print or Scan.

Hello Malsasa,

i use a Canon Pixma MG4250 Printer/Scanner.

It works fine with all my Trisquel machines.

I have an old Brother DCP-7020. I don't use Trisquel nowadays, but when I did, it worked just fine. Scanning doesn't work though.
