Whisker Menu
The Xfce trouble topic got locked, so I'll post here.

If you installed Whisker Menu from Belenos repos, you probably have version 1.3.2-1.
There's backports which has 1.4.0-1.

The latest version is 2.1.2.
Thanks for the efforts, loldier.
What does backport mean? It seems that from backport I can get the same version as you have.
Wikipedia has an entry on software backports in general.

Belenos backports
Thanks. I could have checked that myself, but often I am uncertain of what to look for and if I find it, I often don't understand it anyway!
But backporting wasn't hard to understand.
Following the links about xfce, it says that
If you are running Trisquel, it is strongly suggested to use a package manager like aptitude or synaptic to download and install packages, instead of doing so manually via this website.
You should be able to use any of the listed mirrors by adding a line to your /etc/apt/sources.list like this:
deb http://es.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel belenos-backports main
Replacing es.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel with the mirror in question.
I have the following sources listed:
#deb cdrom:[Trisquel 7.0 _belenos_ - Release amd64 (20141102)]/ belenos main
# Trisquel repositories for supported software and updates
deb http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos main
deb-src http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos main
deb http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos-security main
deb-src http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos-security main
deb http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos-updates main
deb-src http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos-updates main
#deb http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos-backports main
#deb-src http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos-backports main
1) I suppose that I can use the fr.archive... instead of the es.archive... listed in the instructions. Isn't that right?
2) Should I just remove the # in front of the last two lines of sources or the only the second last?
3) Does the last line of the instructions above mean that I must add a # in front of any other sources?
- That is right.
- Yes: to get backported packages, remove the "#", save the file, and run the "Update Manager" (or 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade' if you prefer the terminal).
- No: keep the other lines as they are!
Thanks. Now I've got right :-)
And I am so far very happy with xfce. I just have three more wishes for the whisker menu, but to the best of my 'research' they are not easy (if even possible) to solve:
1) Commands and search bar switch position, i.e. commands will be right under the panel button
2) Recently used (apps) be moved or hidden
3) A recently used files category added.
I have read (on Stackexchange I think) about ideas for solving 2) and 3) but if there is an actual solution, I don't understand it.h
One more thing: Is it possible to change settings (or theme) in order to be able to close an app by clicking e.g a cross in the tab? As for now I have to right-click the tab and then click Cloe at the bottom.
