Trisquel did not meet the goal of having 100 associate members to support it by the end of 2011. Thus I am reporting it as a critical bug that we don't have 100 associate members to support the project.
I am putting out a call to all free software supporters with the means to help the Trisquel distro be the best it can be. Please help the project close this bug so that it can have financial support to continue the great work it does.
This bug should be closed when the community page shows 100 associate members.

I would like to see other ways to become a member. I am boycotting PayPal.
There is https://www.alertpay.com/en/Default.aspx which is used by Matias Fonzo, Dragora's maintainer: http://dragora.org/donations.html

I've just pruned the list, it now contains the currently 36 active accounts, plus 5 founder members (with no fees): quidam, aklis, kour, david and lorena.
This currently amounts to ~400€/month.

Edit (more polite ;-): My experience with the "Members-Page" https://trisquel.info/en/member was that I came across it *just by chance* and had a hard time finding it again.
If your are interested, I have three suggestions to make it more prominent.
[Original post: My suggestion is to make the "Members-Page" https://trisquel.info/en/member more prominent. I came across it *just by chance* and had a hard time finding it again!]
1. Link to the members-page on the donation-page https://trisquel.info/en/donate
2. Explain the Link to the members-page on the community-page https://trisquel.info/en/about
3. Invite to become a member in the bar on the right, just about the same size as "recent donations"
Additionally, I can't access the paypal-website properly, see https://trisquel.info/en/issues/6438 , and this prevents *me* personally to become a member. Because I like the project. (-:

You may wish to use the donation style for currency for the associate member thing as not everyone who might be interested uses the Euro. I myself am a American and only use the dollar so I can't join. Just a thought.
I am an American and I am a member. The only thing is because it is euros the amount deducted varies slightly month to month. So for example (I am making these numbers up) lets say you were contributing 5 euros a month. You would see maybe one month $8.71 taken out and the next month $8.35. It fluctuates based on the exchange rate but you can still join as an American.

Quidam is now accepting Bitcoins. This should allow Paypal boycotting users to become members!
I will become one in the next month or so hopefully, once I can figure out how to convert my currency. :-)

While it's great news, now might be somewhat inopportune time to buy BTC.

Some people have suggested it will never come down on the other hand. And of course, it's fairly irrelevant if they're sold soon when received.
How does one become a member using bitcoins? I only found a donation page.
Maybe you could try contacting quidam, and see if he can process it manually.
