Trisquel is a fully free (as in "free speech", not merely as in "free of charge") GNU/Linux based operating system. It is derived from Ubuntu, but includes only free software that does not compromise on user freedom.

Editions

Trisquel - is intended for home and personal use, and includes a lot of apps for that: networking, multimedia, office, games, etc.

Trisquel Mini - is fast and lightweight for netbooks and older computers. Give it a try.
All editions come in both 32 and 64-bit architectures.

Versions

Four versions of the distro are currently supported: the 2.x LTS branch, codename Robur, the 4.0.x LTS branch, codename Taranis, the 5.0 branch, codename Dagda and 5.5 branch, codename Brigantia. LTS stands for long term support.
