Dell Inspiron 1300

The Dell Inspiron 1300 is libre-software friendly, in the same way that a Think Penguin computer is. That is, it has a proprietary BIOS, but all the hardware components are friendly to libre software. The Dell Inspiron 1300 has been out of production since (year); it is generally available as a used computer only.

The hardware specifications are available here: http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookreview/dell-inspiron-1300-review-pics-specs/

Some parts may be upgradable; individual 1300s may come with better or worse components.

Community member moxalt encourages community members to purchase from companies that actively support libre software. If we purchase used computers when we can afford computers from libre-friendly companies, we may undermine the availability of libre-friendly computers long-term.
