Found this nice looking little latop at RePC, a local tech recycling company. I saw it already had GNULinux installed and was only $50. I think my old netbook is getting ready to give up the ghost so I jumped at the chance to get this one. The manager commented that he had more in the back room.
It comes with a touch screen and I have never had a touchscreen with GnuLinux except an Android smartphone. I don't know that I need the touchscreen to work but maybe I'll try to get it going.
I just installed Trisquel 11 mini and have gotten the updates. Since the Manjaro that was on it had an EFI partition, I made one too and all went smoothly. I have an extra hard drive on my PC and have been doing a lot of distro hopping lately and I think Trisquel outshines them all. So I'm happy it installed on this little device.
(Update on the touchscreen, I just brought up Galculator using the touchscreen! I thought it would be a real tough challenge. Aramo just made it work. How disappointing, no challenge, heh, heh)
It comes with a Celeron N3150 cpu, 4 Gb RAM and a 128 SSD and has an HDMI port too.
Now you know I'm gonna have fun installing all my favorite software.
What do you think? For $50 did I do good?
Also, any risk in installing jxself kernel?
