I have tried to upgrade my Thinkpad w541 Laptop to Trisquel 8 from Trisquel 7 and I experienced this sequence of prompts which lead to my laptop not being able to reboot. It seems there is some dependecy issue that won't let Trisquel Desktop to run/install correctly? Here are my screenshots:

I ended up solving this issue for me, but I think what I discovered might help with creating a better upgrading experience. please my solution on the forums:

Trisquel 8.0 support ended in April 2021.
Please open a new issue in case it remains on the current supported release.
