Long boot-up time

Trisquel is taking long time to boot. Can we include Plymouth to make booting faster?

My laptop boots from grub to gdm in 20 seconds, which is pretty good. The next release (3.5) will include upstart and will load (even) faster.

As for the plymouth question, I don't see how changing the boot splash software would make the system boot faster. As our upstream uses usplash for that, and it seems to work well, we have no plans for changing it. Thanks for the reference, though.

If your computer takes more than 30 seconds to boot, then start without the "splash" kernel parameter (pressing f3 in the grub screen), and see if a certain boot step gets stuck.
