Absolutely insane, inadequate people, very toxic and not friendly chat.
If the Libreboot developers are such people, we are all very unlucky. I fully support several people leaving their Libreboot project
and the creation of Gnuboot, how they lasted so long with such a person is incomprehensible!
By the way, on the Canoeboot website, Leah is not directly but indirectly mocking the GnuBoot project.

I wrote a simple question to get an answer, I saved the correspondence as confirmation of everything that happened.

I'm sure that Leah hides behind other nicknames and writes offensive replies to users.
Her style cannot be confused. She is harsh, rude, arrogant and very unpleasant.

I think GnuBoot was made after Libreboot started including "blobs" in it.

The Canoeboot website may also have some objections to some things in, or maybe what is not included in, GnuBoot.

I do not know what was typed or sent about any questions you may have sent. Do you have a link to a any public text?

https://web.archive.org/

may have some pages saved about both the Canoeboot website and the GnuBoot website.

Also there may be more information at

Hello Other_Cody. If you are in the Libreboot IRC chat, you can read our correspondence.

I asked the usual question as any user would ask it.

I read about the Gnuboot project and the whole history associated with it and I know why the Canoeboot website was created. I am 100% sure that the decision of her colleagues to leave her and create a separate project was absolutely correct!

Hello . I understand what you are talking about, but you are superficial and not deeply talking about Leah.
Sorry, but your example doesn’t say anything from the point of view of human psychology.

As is already known, she made a grave mistake due to which the GnuBoot project was formed => https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/GNU_Boot and here https://savannah.gnu.org/news/?id=10571
I am convinced that this mistake will be followed by others in the direction of unfree software.

The essence of this developer does not correspond to the concept of freedom !!!!!!

People like her leah

And

Riku_V
qeeg
f_

(these are the pseudonyms of her colleagues in the Libreboot IRC chat) it is forbidden to communicate with people, they are toxic, unfriendly, rude, I can insult you if you asked a question that they didn’t like or ban you!

P.S You may not agree with me, but time will put everything in its place!

Just my 2 cents.

While I understand Leah's pragmatic position on microcode, I don't completely agree with it but it is very understandable considering the dire position of hardware availability nowadays. Just remember we also have the freedom to choose which software we want to use, Leah and the Libreboot team isn't holding our machines hostage. Fork it, make it into what you want, you never know maybe Libreboot will use some of these changes and we will all benefit.

People and their personalities will always be prone to conflicts, we could be talking about shoe styles and many will be water and oil, unmovable objects meeting unstoppable ones. But that is fine, that is the way people are. It is what spurs folks to do something outside the norm.

I haven't had a lot of interaction with Leah over the years - I did buy my laptop from her and it is brilliant - all interactions have always been pleasant enough. Take that for what you will.

When I had difficulties with Trisquel on the boot software provided by Leah on a laptop from minifree or another one, I was told it was a Trisquel problem and I had to seek help from Trisquel community. So I would not recommend Libreboot if one intends to use Trisquel. I plan to flash GNU boot at some point.

My overall feeling is that Leah has no interest in FSDG distros.

With respect to my minifree order, the computer is good in spite of some issues (need to have USB keyboard unplugged at boot or won't boot, randomly does not boot Trisquel, sometimes need to wait and retry several times). The customer experience is not flawless, every time I was told a delay (for initial order and repair), it was not respected by more than a month and when I received my order, it had the wrong keyboard and OS installed was not the one I asked for.

do it yourself mentality

If I now tell you to go to mount Everest and tell me that you have to do it yourself?
You won't make it and you'll die 100%! You followed a do-it-yourself mentality!
This is your biggest mistake: you compare yourself as a person who has been programming for many years with a team and people
who want to free themselves from proprietary software and choose you, moreover, the site says that Libreboot was created to help NON-TECHNICALLY trained people!

What are you doing ! When these non-technical people ask you for help, you send them, insult them in the presence of other users and then ban them!

I choose Gnuboot over Libreboot!
