'Files' (the file manager) stopped accepting input on file rename
well the title says it all.
for some reason 'files' the gnome filemanager, has right now stopped accepting keyboard input, but as you can see here, my keyboard works just fine.
I was able to rename some files, then suddenly the symbols didn't show up while renaming one file...
I just now tried to logout and login again, and that seems to have solved the problem... for now I guess...
any experience with this?
Did you try to keep typing, then press Enter? I've experienced a bug where Nautilus would stop showing your changes occasionally, but it was actually still reading the keyboard and pressing Enter caused the file to be renamed appropriately.
had this bug on my old systems. had to kill nautilus
command for ref:
$ killall -9 nautilus
so note that the folders you have open will be closed, you'll just have
to reopen them. I think it might be fixed in the latest nautilus? what
trisquel version are you on?

I am running 'normal gnome' now instead of flashback, but I think I experienced something like this yesterday in flashback-
and thanks for the tip on nautilus, I didn't event recognize it was nautilus since the 'about' dialog doesn't mention it
GNOME Flashback still uses Nautilus, in fact the only difference is that it uses GNOME Panel instead of GNOME Shell, and Metacity instead of Mutter as the window manager. All other programs are the same.
Sounds vaguely like this (also see the linked bug)
