Forum topics become difficult to read when there is a certain number fo nested responses
Or is it just for me? Note, I see the same issue when viewing the forum in Abrowser, Firefox and as an extra experiment in Chrome ...
Not just you. I just filed this
I experience this too
Ok, good to know it's not just me. Thanks for raising the bug lembas.
so this is how I (don't) see onpon's last post on the page https://trisquel.info/en/forum/wa-can-change-not-one-day?page=1
and magic banana's last one on https://trisquel.info/en/forum/client-side-search-engine#new
I never liked the nesting behavior. The posts should just be sorted by date.
I agree. Couldn't read my own post lately.
But even if it's not that extreme, it's still confusing; often I can't see who replied to me or to the post above.
Those threads should never have grown that deeply. We (at least I) fell into the troll trap. A message like https://trisquel.info/en/forum/wa-can-change-not-one-day?page=1#comment-65205 only deserves to be ignored (rather than receive twelve additional levels of replies):
- It asks for justifications to release software under a free software license;
- It accuses our community of being about gratis software rather than free software, with no evidence whatsoever;
- It fires a political argument about "Capitalism vs. Socialism vs. Communism";
- It states contradictions about "forcing freedoms";
- More importantly: it basically has nothing to do with the previous comments in the thread.
We caught a troll (like I recently caught a cold) but we now have a well-working "-1" button to silently deal with trolls: https://trisquel.info/forum/hiding-down-voted-posts-and-everything-below#comment-63664 (@SuperTramp83: that is the conclusion of the post I wrote and that you cannot read).
nice banana magique! totally agree with you..
