Any ideas on why this could be happening? This error message appears in the PDF document, in place of the intended content:

You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by
visiting http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.
For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/go/acrreader.
Windows is either a registered trademark or a trademark of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries. Mac is a trademark
of Apple Inc., registered in the United States and other countries. Linux is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds in the U.S. and other
countries.
I should have removed the Adobe links from the error message. That's not the solution for me.
Here's an earlier discussion on the subject. Unfortunately no solution was found https://trisquel.info/en/forum/can-not-open-pdf-document
Thanks for your help guys. LAO sent me a version in standard PDF.
I will ask them to use standard formats. I'll have to do it in writing; they don't seem to take those kinds of requests over the phone.
Maybe it's the intended content. ^^
They want you to be Adobe-addicted.
Often (always ?), when I notice that a website puts DRM in files, I don't trust anymore the website, I don't go there anymore.
Exactly... it's much easier when prisioners lock handcuffs on themselves! :-)
I don't need thsoe people either. Friends wonder why I don't visit their websites or respond to emails. "Duhh, because you use DOM, flash, and cookies to track traffic." Also don't use gasoline, paper or plastic fake money, wifi or cell phones which are proven to cause tumors. Even all my food is real. Choices!
You should complain to those responsible that they are not using standard file types and ask them to please use standard PDF, not some DRM'd bullshit that only works in Adobe Reader.
While not letting most GNU/Linux users actually see the pdfs, they still feel the need to let us know that ...
".... Linux is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds in the U.S. and other countries."
