Yes, I know, I know; I made a post not that long ago where I asked about this, but I checked it and it seems to me I didn't get too much discussion about it, so trying again.

Are there any ram modules that are more free than others? And/or are there any ram module manufacturers that follow a "more ethical" production procedure than other manufacturers? :)

I don't know that the answer has changed since then.

Maybe one can tell you if it is an improvement?

We have free RAM initialization code for the computers supported by libreboot. Having that for the one machine from SiFive is also good. This has no impacted on the RAM ***modules*** themselves, which I think was the OP's original question. :)

EDIT: I should also point out that we only have that code from SiFive because of the public outcry/shaming/whatever-you-want-to-call-it that happened in response to the presence of the binary blob. It's glad that they freed it but that wasn't originally their plan.
