Connecting to the internet wirelessly (version 6) -- no prompt

I recently updated to Trisquel 6 and before I was running 5.5

On my previous version, I could connect to my wireless network simply by selecting it from a window that showed me the available networks. Now, on version 6, there is no such window, and I can't see my network or connect to it.

Do I have to install a program in order to see my networks and connect to them?

I know I could go through the process of setting up the wireless connection manually, but it seems as though there must be a better option.
