Difficulties in Trisquel 10 development

I've tested Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (just released) in a VM. With default installation, the (Gnome) Software Updater said that around one hundred packages needed to be upgraded. When I disabled all "restricted" and "multiverse" entities in /etc/apt/sources.list and run # apt update again, only 2 packages needed an upgrade. This is very different from previous Ubuntu releases. Even though I (of course) chose not to install non-free drivers, firmware, plugins or codecs during installation, a lot of non-free software still got installed without my knowledge or consent.
If the non-free packages were indeed from the Multiverse and Restricted repositories, then this should not affect Trisquel at all. Trisquel's only automatically imports packages from Main and Universe.
Ubuntu's default set of installed packages does not really influence Trisquel. It is said Trisquel is based on Ubuntu but it would be more correct to say Trisquel is based on Ubuntu's packages. On those that are free as in freedom, to be more precise.
Thanks for clarification. I was just so surprised that Ubuntu began to install non-free packages (except firmware) by default.
