Recently I put the full trisquel 32bit on a Thinkpad X60/60GB SSD. The boot is quick but the shutdown is less than 2 seconds !! My Win 7 pro X200 shutdown is about 12 seconds (much longer on battery power). Also running Abrowser instead of Palemoon and so far it's good.
Go trisquel.

It's high time that you purge Losedows 7 (which will expire very soon) on your X200 and install Trisquel too.
If you temporarily have difficulties in removing X200's BIOS white list restrictions, there is a usable Atheros card: Lenovo FRU number 43Y6511.
