Fully free (MMO)RPG.

I cannot play WoW anymore. I think it's completely WoW game over for me. But I cannot find FULLY free RPG or MMORPG. I like games with different quests.
World/textures MUST BE FREE. Or Minetest only?
P. S. If I will crack Battle.net servers, add source code to website and set license to GPL — can WoW be free after this?

Be careful: I may sneak into your apartment, tag a wall and your apartment will be mine.

Stealing proprietary code and then posting it as your own under the GPL doesn't magically free the code...

And even if it did, you'd have a libre server to play WoW on, but WoW is still (and always will be) proprietary. Unfortunately if you're really on this "computers are evil if they run proprietary code" kick you can't play WoW, plain and simple.

Haven't check the license, but I think it's free: http://www.planeshift.it/

PlaneShift's code is GPL but its artistic content is proprietary.

Very much so; the art's license is explicitly designed to make forking PlaneShift exceedingly difficult, since you would have to replace all the artistic components. Absolutely avoid PlaneShift.

As an aside, for what it's worth, I added PlaneShift to my article, "The Gaming Trap":

Content is proprietary.

I have you tried Mana World yet? I posted it in a couple other threads you made.

Seconded!

The Mana World is a very nice game in a pixel art style. The game is undergoing a merge with another free game called "Evol Online", so the current game stalls a bit and some big changes will be coming soon, but certainly come and try it out. You can find some nice people in the community, which is often a vital element of an MMORPG.

Really? Where did you see that they are merging? I thought they were being developed as completely separate projects. That would be cool, I really like Evol Online but it lacks the huge world TMW has (but has much greater story direction).

Are there any 3D game? Maybe, I will use Minetest for my own game.

Maybe you can find a Minetest server running this subgame.

Actually Planeshift reminds me of Meridian59, another one with free source code but non-free assets. Not sure about the details regarding that one, I found it very difficult to run on Wine and the client is not ported to GNU/Linux.

I totally lost interest in Meridian59 once I discovered the assets are non-free, however... I really like the idea of a 2.5D MMORPG.
