Games Digital Distributors

We already know the position of Richard Stallman about Steam coming to GNU/Linux. As a gamer who hates games with DRM (Steam is a DRM itself), I'm not pretty close to the Valve product (once a time I was, but the last privacy rules change made me think), but I would be blind if I don't see a lot of good things that it has.

Anyway, there is a whole life after Steam. I created this thread to talk about Steam competitors, digital distributors, like Desura (who has a strong linux community behind) or GOG.com (which sells games without DRM). What do you think about them?

Are they also dangerous for software freedom?

Desura has its own client, but you can download the games alone form their webpage, many of them without any DRM.

GOG.com it does not has any client, only games that, unfortunely, do not run natively on linux (at least for now). But hey are DMR-Free.

This are the two digital distributors I use normally, and I would like to know about your opinion. I think that games do not need to be open source like applications, a mod-friendly games it's enough for me, don't need to have access to its source. But I know that some of you don't have my same opinion, so here is the next days chat I suppose :P

So, what do you guys think? 'Know about a better digital distributor?
