Grub problems on Trisquel

Hi,
I had Ubuntu 10.04 installed on my system. As another operating system I installed Trisquel 3.0 kernel 2.6.28-15 generic, which is a distro for Sugar.
The installation succeeded and I was asked to restart the machine.
After restarting the machine the new bootloader of Trisquel comes but the machine just hangs at that. The bootloader shows the other operating systems on the machine correctly, but does not actually boot into any of them. The machine just halts at the bootloader. It does not respond to any keystrokes. The only option is to restart, but then again same thing happens.
What can be the possible source of this problem?

Did you try resetting the computer with the boot disk and re-installing? It sounds as though your boot-loader got messed up. One other trick you might try is using the Ubuntu boot loader to recover, but leave the Trisquel partition intact, hopefully this will install a working boot loader while leaving Trisquel installed. Does this make sense?
