Hi guys, hope you are all fine! This is my first post of the year here in the Trisquel forum.
I simply wanted to know if any of you could recommend me an ethical, affordable and good quality hosting service. I know Gandi, but I'd like to have other options to compare.

Thanks, and happy new year to everyone!

Indeed, but it's for my dad's company, and all of what I've is an old PC and a Banana Pi that I use for myself

I recommend that you detail what you want hosted, how much you're willing
to pay, and if there are any exclusions you want considered (for example,
not hosting in certain countries). The more details you give the more
people can help you find what you're looking for.

Don't worry for the price and country (but if it's possible, avoiding USA).

I'd like a hosting service where I can access a full GNU/Linux system through SSH where I can have root access, so I'd be able to install/delete programs, set them up, etc. A Cpan (or similar) web would be also OK. What I want to run there is:

- An Apache server (for websites and webapps, like roundcube and maybe ownCloud/NextCloud)*
- email server (postfix+dovecot)*
- use Let's Encrypt for all the SSL stuff

*for these I requiere the typical opened ports, like 80, 443, 25, 564, 143, 993, 995, etc.

Would be good to also have the option of which distro to run. Otherwise, if I cannot choose it, a good choice would be a stable distro (LTS preferably) that runs versions of certbot that are able to create wildcard certificates.

Doesn't matter if the hosting service you want to recommend me doesn't meet all of these requirements. While I can manage the web and email server, it's OK (and most important, the SSL certs)

Look for a VPS / Bare-Metal hosting provider depending on your needs.

My company can set you up with a VPS or a bare metal server, depending on your needs. Our services run on the KCMA-D8/KGPE-D16 (with Libreboot/coreboot) board or TALOS II. The offerings aren't public yet, so please contact me with your needs and your ~ budget if you're interested. Location is Germany. Distro is up to you, though we recommend using Trisquel.
