How to install Chromium

How do I install Chromium since it's "open" but not in the repos? Will installing it make my new Trisquel 5.5 somehow less safe? I am concerned about security & stability in an OS and if the repos aren't maintained, because of the obvious freedom theme, then how do I get regular updates to my Chromium browser? I'd rather just use the browsers on Trisquel itself if it means I'm sacrificing something, as in updates or security. Thanks in advance for answering.

To be clear Chrome is not 100% free software. This much I know for sure. The Google release of the software integrates Adobe Flash. You don't want to install the Google version because it has privacy related issues as well as adobe flash. In addition it links to a plug-in repository which shows you non-free plug-ins.
Chromium from the Ubuntu repository (Based on Chrome) is a little bit better. I believe the privacy issues were fixed although the non-free components might not have been. If I recall correctly Rubén indicated it may be possible to add Chromium back into Trisquel at some point.
I think we are reading each other's minds becuase about 10 minutes before I
read this post, I was thinking about Chromium and if the licencing issue was
ever worked out by the Chromium team. I know in the past that Ruben has
reconsidered adding it back and grvrulz had a little side project looking up
the licences. I haven't heard of any updates on the status of Chromium but if
it was reincluded, that would be awesome for a lot of users.
Oh and you don't need Ubuntu repos to get Chromium. You can get it via this

I believe that Chromium was not included into the repositories because some
parts have unclear licensing. So in order to make sure everything is as free
as possible, Chromium wasn't included. It's most likely free software though,
just too hard to verify it.

It isn't good to link sources of non-free software in the Trisquel Forums,
and I feel that Chromium freedom issues has been solved.
You contradicted yourself.
You said to not link to non-free software like Chromium then immediately say that Chromium's freedom issues have been solved.
If that is the case, there is nothing wrong with adding a PPA if it is considered free software. Some examples include this GNU PPA and the LibreOffice PPA.
