Hi everyone,

I'm learning C++ as a non-professional, (so like a hobby), and so far I know nothing.

I'm going through an instructional self-teach book and I'm stuck on the part that says

"open the code::blocks executable program using the technique your platform usually requires".

..... I was able to install "code::blocks IDE" in Trisquel using the "Add/Remove Applications" menu. But now I'm supposed to run it. Unlike other things I install through that menu, I don't see it anywhere to click on..... perhaps I have to run it via the terminal? If so, how would I do that?

thanks everyone,

It should be in the main menu. To launch it in a terminal, type "code" and then the tabulation key. If it is completed, you then only need to type Enter. If, instead, nothing happens, type the tabulation one more time and several commands that start with "code" will be listed. You should recognize the one for Code::Blocks (I would guess "codeblocks") and type it.

On my system it shows in the "Programming" category.

You may need to tick the corresponding box in System > Preferences > Look and Feel > Main Menu.
