I want to use the line in port to play music from en external source and use my PC speakers as output.
When I connect the device to the line in port, I get no sound output.
Can someone give me an advice, how I have to change my configuration?
I am using Trisquel 9 with Mate desktop. sound card is an onboard Intel HDA

Has this ever worked for you? If so what happened/when did it stop working? What does your "Sounds" setting say as far as your input and output?

I think you have to rule out that there is no problem with your sound hardware first. Do you have some type of other audio interface like a USB one? It could be one of those basic ones like this: https://thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/penguin-usb-20-external-stereo-sound-adapter-gnu-linux-tpe-usbsound

Sound output in general works. I just want to get sound from the line in port working.
