Is httpseverywhere useless?

Can someone confirm the following? Take the hedgewars website for instance. Whether I write in searx 'hedgewars' and then click on the link or directly write 'hedgewars.org' in the urlbar I do not get redirected to the (available) https version of the site. So, my question is: is this a bug? Why would I keep an addon that serves only one purpose and fails (miserably) at it? Is this only me? Can someone confirm?
Using Tor Browser, which has HTTPS Everywhere installed, I do not get redirected to https://hedgewars.org either.
HTTPS Everywhere just has a set of rules for redirecting different websites. You can get a rule for hedgewars.org added if you want, just submit a pull request.
Exactly. Here are the supported domains: https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere/atlas/
And https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere/rulesets explains how to add a ruleset to HTTPS Everywhere.
I see, I was not aware of this, I thought it did so by sheer magic.. :)
tx Legimetto and Bannnannna Magique for explaining it to me so clearly. You helped my precocious senility very much.
Have a cake ->
