Installing Trisquel 4.5

Hello!
I downloaded and burned a Trisquel 4.5 Live CD, which I then tried on my HP Pavilion dm4 laptop.
It does not detect any Wifi networks, although it does seem to detect when I plug in an Ethernet cable.
Is there anything I can do to have Wifi?

It may be that it does not have any Free driver (at least in the Linux-libre kernel Slaine ships, i.e., version 2.6.38).
To help you, we need to know the model of your Wifi card. The command 'lspci' (to be entered in a terminal) should tell (normally in a line with "Network Controller").
I did it:
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 (rev 57)
If I just get the Wifi working I'm ready to migrate to Trisquel!

Bad news: "Non-free firmware is required" ( http://wiki.debian.org/iwlagn ). Indeed, you can read the license under which Intel distributes it ( http://intellinuxwireless.org/tar.php?p=iwlwifi&f=LICENSE.iwlwifi-6050-ucode&a=iwlwifi-6050-ucode-41.28.5.1.tgz ). That is not free software.
It means this device will not work with Linux-libre (therefore with any 100% Libre GNU/Linux such as Trisquel) until this firmware is liberated (or a replacement is written).
You can:
1) Use a cable (i.e., the Ethernet iterface);
2) Buy a Wifi dongle after checking its compatibility with Linux-libre on h-node ( http://www.h-node.com/wifi/catalogue/en ) or testing it (maybe other users may indicate models too);
3) Add the faulty Wifi device on h-node;
4) Write to Intel and convince them to liberate their firmware;
5) Eat a banana and relax.

It's overwhelmingly likely that your current wifi chipset doesn't have a free driver. Unfortunately, you would have to buy another one. :(
