RFY or "Reclaim Freedom Yonder", because it is always one signpost further.

BYOF - Bring your own freedom - that's what I think we need. Find your favorite non-free distro and free it up yourself.

Agreed. BYOF is the best principle for picking an OS. Or FFYF - Fight For Your Freedom.

However, hardware is somewhat trickier. What the post suggests is in fact a hardware freedom scale, from 0 for purely proprietary devices to 10 for the current RYF items. Something like the MNT Reform would probably get 9, the Librem 5 arguably less since it has proprietary firmware by design.

That could also be a good reference for projects currently under development, like the EOMA68, so potential backers would get a clearer picture of their current and future options.
