I solved the problem by disabling systemd-resolved.

I install gnome after installed trisquel mate, it blank screen gradually and do not have the problem, while netinstall gnome blank screen suddenly and have the problem.
ubuntu blank screen gradually too,so i think the way to solve the problem is setting gnome blank screen gradually.

systemd-resolved has always run on my system. My Trisquel 11 was apparently not always waking up from suspend. Only apparently: the screen was staying black but typing Ctrl+Alt+F1 would bring the login screen and typing my password would then resume my system where it stopped: the session was *not* restarted. It is unclear whether your problem was similar and whether Ctrl+Alt+F1 was a solution.

I have not gone through such issues in weeks, if not months. When I was, I was not listening to music. Abrowser was opened though and so were Emacs, Icedove and Liferea. Those applications are always opened in my session. Possible suspects given my usages: invidious in a tab in Abrowser?, slides opened in presentation mode?, getting off the sector between suspend and resume?

Since Ark74 seems willing to fix the issue, let us see if we are referring to similar symptoms and, if so, maybe find some intersection in the states of our systems when the problem occurs and try to reliably reproduce it.

Oh!, then you have mixed DE, ok, that might be the main reason, some configurations behave wonky when used on different DE that they were designed for.

The aramo netinstall allows to install GNOME without the need to pass first on Mate, does that prevent this behavior?

So, the steps to trigger the event would be,

a) Install Trisquel 11 with GNOME using the netinstall by selecting the GNOME at the tasksel step.
( > Apply updates ?) dah!, it's a netinstall, hehehe xD
b) Open music in abrowser, some kind of music format, service, platform?
c) Wait 'til screensaver loads.
d) GDM freeze!

Is this right?

I've tried those steps on a vm, and I couldn't replicate the issue.

The screen lock kicks in, then put the password and it returns to keep working as it should.

Something that I might be missing/skipping on the test?

Wait until suspend! you have better try it on a physical machine.

Hmm, Huston we have a problem, I have few spare machines to install gnome on them.

I'll try to follow up when possible, maybe someone else can confirm the issue in the meantime.

@Ark74

My comment on what you wrote has nothing to do with Trisquel or computers and is meant to be entertaining, not critical.

You obviously are aware of the famous voice transmission to the space command center at a city in Texas, USA. The start of the transmission sounds phonetically in English as "You" + "stun", two English words. The correct pronunciation puts the accent on the first word. The spelling of that city in Texas, defying all logic, is spelled "Houston", not "Huston" as you wrote. If that is not crazy enough, there also is a street on the lower East side of Manhattan in New York City that is Houston Street, identically spelled. Everyone in New York pronounces it like "house" + "ton" street. Go figure! It makes no sense, but I am pretty sure what I say is true.

Is that a BIOS setting?

Update: Oh, GRUB option, ok, interesting seems to be a known issue for a long time since 18.04 at least.

Update2: Seems to be specific to certain devices: https://hamwaves.com/usb.autosuspend/en/
