New Trisquel 7 must have Debian Packaging for more security+++
Ubuntu is fucking badass for privacy by default
so there package is not so trustworthy anymore
Debian is the Way to go
Debian and Ubuntu use the same package system. You may have noticed the .deb files in the repositories of both. Your English must be terrible as you are using the word badass in the wrong way.
"Your English must be terrible as you are using the word badass in the wrong way."
No, I think he is being sarcastic.
I think you are giving him too much credit considering his vocabulary in previous posts.
"Your English must be terrible as you are using the word badass in the wrong way."
How many foreign languages do you speak perfectly?
If the number is smaller than three, I'll advise against complaigning about the language skills of a non-native speaker.
Should that count as an *ad hominem* or as a *straw man*? Sure, I bet you won't know the difference till you ask Wikipedia.
Ad hominem: "You're just stupid."
Straw man in response to "Proprietary software is unethical": "I disagree with your claim that capitalism is wrong. Capitalism is not wrong because of reason A, reason B, and reason C."
So...Ubuntu has moved to using dpkg without APT and replace APT with a web service? :p
Ubuntu's privacy problems have got nothing to do with its package management, which is pretty much a carbon copy of whatever Debian snapshot they took for Precise (+ the bugfixes that were aplied to it afterwards).
Anyway, you'll probably like www.gnewsense.org . No Gallium3D there, though.
I believe what they mean to say is that Trisquel should move from being Ubuntu-based to Debian-based.
Ok dude
Dark Orange just a note that calling people "dude" is an overly casual way to address strangers. Just so you're aware that is not a convention in the English language.
Also, in just about every context it makes you look sarcastic, annoyed, or stoned. None of those are exactly good impressions.
I'm surprised at the comments that are adding to the forum.
Worrying about who wrote the post rather than comment on a change from Ubuntu to Debian.
Recalling that Ubuntu has a company involved. It is not good to see using repositories owners.
Trisquel doesn't use Ubuntu's repositories.
I understood
