No volume indicator after update

Hello everyone,
am a new user of Trisquel. i installed the OS yesterday and updated it completely. then i switched of computer. this morning wen i switch on the computer the volume indicator was gone. Below is the list what i tried
1. remove notification and re add notification to panel. stil missing. so i restart computer. but stil missing

2. ALT-F2 then run "gnome-volume-control-applet" stil nothing

3. installed indicator-sound. stil nothing

How can i get the volume indicator back please.

BTW nice distro. i swapped from the bloat ubuntu to this beautiful piece of work. congrats to everyone contributing

You have to install indicator-applet, than add it to the panel. Usually, that applet should be installed by default, so you just have to add it. Right click on the panel, choose Preferences, search for the applet and double click it.

If you don't want to use the applet, you can use gnome-volume-control (without "-applet"). Go to System->Preferences->Startup Applications and add it there. Now it will appear in the notification area (which may or may not already be part of your gnome panel, add it if it is missing).
