Nouveau Full HD tutorial?

Hi everyone, My Nvidia GTX750ti works with Nouveau but only at 1024x768 and a few lower resolution options. My monitor supports a native resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p HD)
Can anyone point me to a tutorial (if one exists) to adding resolution options to Nouveau?
I'm using Trisquel 7 but am new to using the Nouveau driver as I previously just relied on Intel HD support.
Couldn't seem to find a solution https://www.google.com/search?q=Nvidia+GTX750ti+nouveau+resolution&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 . Maybve all you can do (sadly) is remove nouveau.
I'll keep hunting; for now I can either remove the card or bypass it. Luckly my other computer is System 76 laptop and I just purchased a USB WiFi adapter to solve my issue with that system.
One place that could have useful answers is #nouveau on the freenode IRC network.
I'm pretty sure that graphics card is too new. None of the current generation NVIDIA stuff is well supported. Although they made some major headway from what I heard on at least some newer generation support.
Thanks Chris, I'll do that.
In the meantime I'm running Trisquel on my lappy.

Your GTX 750 Ti, like all Maxwell cards, may possibly not work under a fully free operating system (read the news above carefully, it is not so bad currently, but could be bad in the future). Even if the NVIDIA-provided firmware was free, you would not be able to run a modified version if it, effectively being “tivoized”. Wait and see.
On-topic: try changing your GRUB resolution by editing /etc/default/grub then running "sudo update-grub2". It must be a supported resolution, else you may run into problems, so keep a Live media around.
I'll give this a shot. Thanks Calinou.
