[OT] Seeking Accessible Tool for Reading Secure (.pss) Adobe Docs

I am a member!
I ask on behalf of a friend who is a Linux user with a visual
impairment. He can open and read unencrypted '.pdf', but not the
secured variety. Here's hoping someone can recommend tool(s) for doing
this.

Try gnupdf.org as that should have software with the fullest free PDF
implementation. According to the FSF GNU PDF came off the high priority
list last October, it is likely that Trisquel is not up to current with
whatever the GNU PDF release was then.
You should also bear in mind that at least some of the so called PDF
encryption features are DRM, and then you can expect to be on a no hoper
wrt finding free software support.

Poppler has fullest free PDF support, so GNU PDF is not a high priority
project now.

Okular has an option to disobey these restrictions. Patents are a
reason for this being only an option.

Thanks, everyone! I think the command line tool, pdftk, is his best
bet, and it's in the repositories. He can pass the output from pdftk to
poppler utils, and have text or html.

A quick search of the internet shows that there are programs to decrypt PDF files. Can you provide some further details? Does this person know the password?
