Print preview is missing

I am a translator!
On one Trisquel computer that I installed recently, in atril or in gthumb, regardless of the choice of the printer, including choosing to print in a file, clicking on "preview" just closes the print window and nothing else happens.
I wonder whether any package is missing, or how to fix this. Printing works though, but it is annoying not to have a preview.

Installing evince installed libeview3-3a and libevdocument3-4. Print preview works in evince while it still does not work in atril (so I did set evince as the default app). Surprise, print preview now also works with gthumb.
