Having a problem with Net installer 6. I run through it and select Triskel as my desktop. Everything goes OK untill this
' Select and Install Software' gets to 85% the freezes at - ' running post-installation trigger libglib2.0-0 '
Is this a bug ?
If so how do I report it ?
You can report it at https://trisquel.info/en/project/issues
Have you tried the install without a connection to the Internet? Several users have solved the problem that way. As far as I know only language packages are fetched from the Net. You can install them later (using the "Language Support" utility in the "System Settings").
Not tried that - how do I make sure no internet connection ?
Unplug the Ethernet cable. Do not connect to any wireless network.
Hmmmm, how's the net installer supposed to work without the net? The
'get off the net' advice will get the live cd installer past that
troublesome 'wget' in the script. Doesn't the net installer grab most
of the system (not just the languages, like the live)? Speaking of the
live cd installer, maybe the recommendations screen should say your
computer shouldn't be on the network? People are going to follow that
screen's advice, have the install fail, and never use Trisquel again.
Dave Hunt - you are correct, it doesn't work without the net I've given it a try, it is a shame really as the 5.5 version is excellent but will have to go back to it.
A shame, it doesn't work, and so close to the scheduled release date. I
suppose you can install 5.5, get it the way you like, and do an upgrade,
online, once 6 is out? Or, just stay with 5.5 for as long as it's
supported and it suits you.
Dave Hunt - I hadn't realized that the Trisquel 6.0 were only beta versions, will wait till it appears here www.trisquel.info/en/download
Trisquel 6 is pre-release; I've been using it since November, but I did
the 32-bit install from the live medium. When I installed, I waited for
the progress bar to get stuck around 7%, opened another console and typed:
'pkill wget'
Then it proceeded. This work-around suggested elsewhere in the forum.
My bad. I did not pay enough attention. The NetInstall obviously needs the Net.
