Programmin in repos spamming

Hi

I recently changed the way I handle email, and sought out a program to check my email automatically. gnome-gmail-notifier was among the best, but when I double click on it a new browser window opens with three tabs: my email, Needs.com and Sleep.com. I have never visited the last two websites. Either it's some sort of joke (Email needs sleep?) or crude spam. I was unable to find any information online.
