Replace Wifi card in x200 with one from t61?

Hi.

I have a Lenovo t61 and a x200. The wifi card in t61 work well under Trisquel but the one in x200 doesn't - I wish the x200 to be my main machine and hence running Trisquel.

How do I find out if it is possible to take the wifi card from the t61 and use it in the x200?

You basically need to find out if the two cards have the same interface - if both cards are, say, minipci-e then AFAIK there should be no problems at all. If computer A has a minipci slot, then you want be able to insert the minipci-e taken from computer B in there..
You can use an extension to transform a minipci-e half-size in a full size. Most computers of the last 10 years have either a half-size or a full-size minpci-e, so yeah, there is a huge chance you'll be able to replace them. Only thing you may need is an extension, which you can buy for 2 bucks

Your card is sure not to work with X200, because so far all cards
known to work with Trisquel are also known to be blacklisted by the
X200 BIOS... unless you reflash the X200 with with Libreboot.

So now I'm confused: According to SuperTramp83 I can exchange it, but according to Ignacio.Agullo I'm stuck until I reflash with Libreboot (which I'm not capable of).

I really hope SuperTramp83 is right!

Hmm, well if the lenovo x200 indeed has that wifi adapter blacklisted, then yes, you will need to use an external one or flash in libreboot. Actually I did not consider that when you first asked the question, my bad..

Let's say that the wifi card from mt t61 fits my x200 (I don't know yet): The card works with Trisquel on the t61, but would the white/black list be different between the two machines?

This is the official Lenovo documentation:

Numeric Error Code 1802 - Unauthorized network card - Lenovo Support (ES)
https://support.lenovo.com/es/es/documents/ht001309

I don't know any fix or workaround to this, other than reflash
the BIOS with Libreboot.

Unfortunately, the list of accepted network cards cannot be
found. So far, all Trisquel-compatible wifi cards are known to be
blacklisted (or rather, not whitelisted) by the X200 BIOS.
