I was looking for a similar interface to iGoogle, with movable widgets, but using free software. The nearest I've found is a Mozilla based project called Spicebird.

Although it is an application. It looks better than iGoogle and it has similar "drag and drop" widgets. Its released under a free software license as well. Now all we need are more free software widgets.

Just a quick bump for this post. The reason I posted was because I thought this application would make a good addition to Trisquel. It'd be a good way of customising the OS and making support easier to access.

For example, the home page could come preconfigured with Trisquel and FSF RSS feeds, DuckDuckGo search box and a forum and chat/IM widget for support.

The screenshots are a little confusing, because one of them uses a Persona theme. Here's what the standard home page actually looks like, all the widgets are changeable: http://www.spicebird.com/files/images/home.png
