I am mainly interested to know about connections such as 2G/3G/4G and main protocols that are available such as GPS/GPRS

Some people say that they can spy only sim card/card code such as in bank cards etc, some say that they can spy socket itself and some say even interact with it.

Can someone provide basic explanation on this topic and for example:

If i would be to use 3G/4G network modem for connection instead of 3G/4G phone with wireless hotspot ,how much secure would i be?

Regards and have a nice day.

I don't know much, but I can give you what I do know...

Obviously, as you point out, the SIM card can be used for tracking. However, according to https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/police-hackers-phone-tracking/, even removing that would not be enough. I presume the tracking identifier of interest outside the SIM card is the IMEI number, a code unique to each phone. It wouldn't be surprising if this were transmitted even without a SIM card, and so could identify anybody merely carrying a phone.

In your last question, I assume you're talking about privacy. If so, there's no difference- the technology needed to connect to the phone tower is identical, and still gives away exactly the same amount of information.

every cell phone to connect to the services need a valid sim card, every cell phone has a unique IMEI, JUST LIKE A pc has a mac address, one thing is the type of encryption that you are using for your text and services you are using for your MSG abilities EITHER on 2G/3G/4G. PRIVACY STARTS on type of encryption you are using for your chats. Your job is to use point to point encryption services that are using to disguised and camouflage the chats. simple
