Sticky Preference in Mozilla Browser?

Hi,

I cannot seem to change the startup setting for my home page. When ever
I look in Preferences -> General, the start page is set to "show my
windows and tabs from last time". When I set this to "show my home
page", and close the Preferences, then restart the browser, the value is
reset to 'tabs and windows'. To work around this, I just make sure to
have only my home page shown when closing the browser, but, this setting
shouldn't be sticky. Maybe there are other sticky preferences, but I
have not yet found them. By the way, I updated my system, yesterday; it
still happens. Can this be fixed?

Thanks,

I think you've spotted a bug Dave. I tried that just now on Trisquel 5 with ABrowser 7.0.1 and it does the same thing. The "Show my Windows and Tabs from last time" keeps getting selected in the drop down, on restart, overriding the "Show my home page." choice.

I've filed a bug on this, thanks for posting. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon: https://trisquel.info/en/issues/4112

Daniel: We posted almost at the same time, hahahaha. You are right, this is probably a bug, my suggestion is only a quick fix, but abrowser
should work out of the box, but you know, bugs happens.

This has been discussed in the Spanish section of the forum:
http://trisquel.info/en/forum/abrowser-no-deja-cambiar-parte-de-la-configuracion

I'm sure it has been also discussed in the English section too but I
don't seem to find the thread.

It seems abrowser is not behaving the way you will think it should. I
don't have a problem with the way abrowser shows me the last visited
page so I haven't tried, but I'm sure you can solve this problem by
visiting the following URL in abrowser:

about:config

You will get warning asking you if you know what you are doing. So click
yes. There you will find all parameters that can be changed for abrower.
There should be a parameter that must change the way abrowser is
currently behaving. Sorry I can not help you anymore. Try searching for
the answer in you favorite search engine, I think it has something to do
with the restore previous session firefox's parameter. If some one can
help Dave, please post. If nobody post I'll try to find the answer my
self since I have seen this has been worrying many users. Not me really.
