Text Install

Hello everyone, new to trisquel, but not to linux. I wanted to check out this distro to see what I think. The only problem is that my computer has issues with setting up the screen when using linux. It is difficult to install because the screen is set too large and I can't see everything. I usually get around this by doing a text install, but I couldn't figure out how.
You can probably get around your problem by manually editing your xorg.conf file. It's disappointing that X.org often still can't get default screen resolution right 100% of the time, but its a consequence of writing software to run on as many platforms as possible.
Please give the GNU project proper credit. We don't call the system simply "GNU" because the kernel is unfinished, so we ask you not to only call it "Linux" as Linux is only a kernel. Unless Linus's project develops its own compiler collection, C library, shell, core utilities, build system, and bootloader, this system is going to continue to be GNU/Linux.
Thanks for the reply. I got around it by editing the general installer option, adding "video=vesa" and that got it to work. For some reason the compatibility installer option didn't work, but adding "video=vesa" to the general installer did.
So far everything seems to work fine. Looking forward to using a truly free operating system again (I used to use BLAG but Fedora 12 wasn't so hot, so I am wondering how well the next BLAG will be)
Apologies for referring the GNU/Linux as linux. Old habits are sometimes hard to shake :)
The BLAG project has been deceased for quite a while now. BLAG doesn't even rank on distrowatch anymore. They may even want to start over from scratch at this point (and definitely rebuild that thing they call their website).
But it's important for the free software community to offer a quality RPM-based distro and keep it current, so that users from Fedora or Red Hat who want to switch to a fully free distro will be familiar with how everything works.
